Golestan Park - Garden

Golestan Garden or Fajr garden( in Turkish is called “Gulastan Baghi” ) was opened in 1308, is considered the oldest park in Tabriz. This beautiful garden with an area of 52000 square feet, in west of the city is

located close to the center of Tabriz.

Golestan Park is a historical park in Tabriz, Iran. The park is located near to Qonqa Square in city center. The place, which was originally used as a public cemetery, was changed to a city park during the second Pahlavi era.

A marble clock tower, which has been devastated recently, had been founded at the front of main entrance of the park.

The streets aroundthis beautiful garden are, Monajem, Melal Motahed, Nadery, and Qunqabashy Avenue. Golestan garden which was founded in the fields of “Gajil”, was introduced as a public walkway and National City garden, was in the people's attention from old ages. This park was a resort for the people who came to rest after shopping from the market. Unfortunately in 1374 the historic walls of garden were removed due to uncertain reason and the garden lost its former beauty and fewer families were welcomed.

Golestan garden has a green area and a small amusement and facilities such as carousels, sailing, car driving are available. The Shams memorial plan is running Golestan garden by the private sector and municipalities, and the announcement of his memorial was held in several times.

Asyab Kharabe Fall: This fall which is also called in Turkish Kharabe Dyrman, is one of the finest spectacular attraction in East Azerbaijan. The main waterfall is 10 meters in height and 200 square meters in land area. This tourist attraction is about 27 kilometers from Hady Shahr and in the border between Iran and Azerbaijan and 5 kilometers from Manjan Abad village, and located on the sidelines of Aras River.
